Teseo’s versatility ensures a clear outlook for the future at Village Glass

Village Glass is a leading independent supplier of specialised glass for residential and commercial applications across the UK.

Recently the company consolidated three separate units into one major premises, requiring the design and installation of a new compressed air generation and delivery system to power the equipment used in the production and cutting of glass. For a solution they contacted Teseo UK.

Managing Director of Village Glass, Neil Jesse, says , “Our Company has grown on the back of strong re-investment to ensure that we have the best facilities and plant. Our current machinery is top-of-the-range and we were looking for a compressed air delivery system that was versatile enough to meet the layout of the factory and handle the needs of our 24 hour production schedule. The airlines in the property we moved to were not fit for purpose and efficiencies are vital in our scale of production.”

The Teseo system fitted the requirements exactly, being strong, easy to install, lightweight and very neat. The ring main was installed and then, working to a layout design created by Village Glass, numerous drops and outlets were created to couple up with the machinery. The 100% leak-free system, combined with valved zoning, provided the versatility needed to be able to automatically isolate individual production areas when not in use. This provided the maximum energy efficiencies cutting compressed air wastage considerably. Further savings are made with flow rates up to 30% higher than steel pipe resulting from the smoother profile of the Teseo aluminium system.

“Thanks to the flexibility of the installation we can easily design any future factory developments within its framework.”

Neil Jesse, Managing Director, Village Glass

“We’ve been very pleased with the installation,” adds Jesse. “Since it was installed we have had no problems and expect to see savings over the next few years, thanks to these efficiencies. We are now re-investing in more equipment and the versatility of the Teseo product means that we can design the development of our factory with confidence that the compressed air delivery will meet all future requirements.”
